North Star – Super Moon

In light of the super moon, I want to share this new song with you today, even though it’s still in the pre-production process. About a month ago, after watching Through the Wormhole with Morgan Freeman, I woke up in the middle of the night hearing and writing this song – titled North Star, (scroll down to listen or link to Reverb Nation to purchase and download the single).

North Star

Lyrics and vocals by Shawna Ray and music by Liquid Chrome

Feel your energy
When you vibe with me
Singularity
Moving opening
Universe balancing
Deep is calling to the deep
Somewhere parallel
This journey time will tell

You are my north star
My constellation
Wherever you are
I am adjacent
My shining axis
Constant compass
You are my night light
Stella polaris

Drawing closer
In rotation
Every soul a
Force of nature
Universe balancing
Deep is calling to the deep
Form changing beyond body
New dimension in high density

You are my north star
My constellation
Wherever you are
I am adjacent
My shining axis
Constant compass
You are my night light
Stella Polaris

Universe balancing
Deep calling to the deep
Now we see in 4D
New awakening

Some have felt it as a love song and others have taken it farther. Feeling a major shift and swirl of energy, with the moon drawing closer – I have felt an urgency to finally do more with these songs that keep waking me up. I did some research on the North Star, because honestly – I wanted to better understand this song that came through me in ten minutes, like a continuous breath. More accurate than any compass – you can find Polaris at any hour of the night – any time of the year. A  “pulsing”  Cepheid variable star – it’s brightness varies slightly from time to time, but it can always be found in a due north direction. If you were at the North Pole, the North Star would be directly overhead.

Columbus mentions the North Star and the two stars in front of the little dipper, referred to as  “guardians of the pole” in the log of his famous journey across the ocean. Many other navigators have used the stars to measure the hour of night, find their place and position relative to Polaris. Shakespeare quoted Julius Caesar stating, “I am as constant as the northern star.”

Three weeks after North Star began to guide me, I met a local musician and producer, Denny  – my new friend. The first night we met and hung out, he shared this music he had temporarily called, “Nugh Nugh” because it had gotten stuck. He was looking for lyrics and a voice to make it a song. I pulled up the lyrics to North Star that I had in my phone and it fit perfectly. This is the kind of music making magic that is so much fun – when we’re reminded there is something much bigger at work in the Universe.

To be honest – I was more into English and Music than Science growing up, but have become more and more fascinated by energy, galaxies and how gravitational forces of the sun, moon and stars work. I definitely feel the Universe balancing in many ways – bringing forth a new awakening – even while it seems like chaos at times.

In an effort to convert the current energy – we decided to share this song today, even in its very raw form. We usually hear heavily produced tracks with professionally mixed and mastered music on the radio – so this quick home recording is what it is – a work in progress. I have also seen a renewing appreciation for real, raw music among kindred spirits – so it’s all good.

Somewhere within the space time continuum – if this song has found you – I hope you will connect and draw closer to the light, as we all do our part to bridge the gaps and move forward, in the “Flow” (title of the new Shawna Ray album in process).

Thanks for listening,
Shawna
