Shawna Ray is a singer-songwriter, author, and communicator with a new music album, titled “Catch 22” that was released 2-22-2020, starting with the first single “GPS for Love” released 1-11-2020. Shawna is seeking major publishing for her first narrative nonfiction novel “ReleaSING the Catch-22” including a lyric book and stories behind 22 songs that make up the soundtrack. Collaborating with a network of experts, the Rhythm Ray team is coordinating Release Retreats in 2022 to renew and release the body, mind, and spirit as you recognize your strengths and repurpose your future. Shawna is the lead speaker and singer in the Shawna Ray Band, sharing original social music with a mix of pop soul, rock, jazz, blues and jam-band styles.
Shawna’s debut album, OPEN released in 2010 with songs including, Butterfly, Breakthrough, and Mom (Picture of Love). Author of Take a Trip to Diverse City, a children’s book that encourages acceptance and appreciation of cultural differences. Currently living in Columbus, Ohio, Shawna is an advocate for unity, women’s rights, holistic health, and animals.
With two decades of experience as a Public Relations professional, Shawna has worked with various organizations as an event and communications director. Shawna earned her BA in Communications specializing in Public Relations at Otterbein University in Westerville, Ohio and is certified and experienced as an OPEN DOORS Trainer to interrupt bias and a Disability Awareness trainer.
A single mother of now-adult son (Zach), daughter (Kaiya) and a rescued black lab pointer mix (Bella), Shawna is now pursuing her passion in this next chapter through music, books and videos as she continues her journey.
