Shawna Ray is a singer-songwriter, author and communicator with two decades of experience as a Public Relations Director and copywriter – working with various organizations. She earned her BA in Communications specializing in Public Relations at Otterbein University in Westerville, Ohio. A single mother of son (Zach), daughter (Kaiya) and black lab (Cole), Shawna is now pursuing her passion through music and books as she continues her journey of ReinventSING. Currently bi-coastal – residing between her hometown of Columbus, Ohio, Brooklyn, New York and San Diego, California, Shawna is an advocate for unity, women’s rights, holistic health and animals.
Collaborating with a network of experts, Shawna is currently coordinating Release Retreats to reinvigorate and release the body, mind and spirit as you recognize and renew your strengths. Founder of non-profit initiatives including SMILE Homes, (Single Mothers Integrated Living Exchange) and That ONE Day music festivals, inspired by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s speech, “I have a dream, that one day…”

The Rhythm Ray Band is led by Shawna Ray and shares original social music with a mix of neo soul, rock, jazz, blues and jam band styles. Currently auditioning new band members to tour.
Rhythm Ray LLC was established in 1998 as Shawna’s consulting company to publish her books, music and events that represents movement and light.
Rhythm Ray Records is the name of Shawna’s music publishing company through ASCAP.
